In the article by Hwang et al. in Journal of Microbiology 2007 45, 175?178, authors referred to the restriction enzyme from X. oryzae pv. oryzae KACC 10331 as XorII. The enzyme described in this article showed the same cleavage pattern as the original XorII isolated by Wang et al. (Biochim Biophys Acta 1980 606(2), 371?385), but those two enzymes came from two different source strains, thus they are not necessarily the same. Dr. Richard Roberts (New England Biolab) suggested that authors should use the acronym XorK for enzymes from this strain, and this restriction enzyme should be named XorKI. This enzyme has been listed in REBASE as of July, 2007. (http://rebase.neb.com/rebase/enz/XorKI.html)
