Copyright

The corresponding author is responsible for signing a ‘License to Publish’ agreement on behalf of all the authors. This agreement form is sent to the corresponding author when the manuscript is accepted and scheduled for publication. Unless the signed agreement form is received, JM will not publish the manuscript.

Open access license

For a high level of openness and dissemination, JM publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license (CC BY), which allows unrestricted reuse of the material with proper attribution.

  • This means;
  • - that the author(s) retains copyright under this license.
  • - that users can have free and unlimited access to the full-text articles published in JM.
  • - that users are free to search, read, download, print, copy, adapt, distribute, reorganize or link the full texts in
  • - JM if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given.
  • - that users can build upon the published work for any purpose, even commercially, as long as credit to the author and original article is given.

Article sharing (author self-archiving) policy

Under a Creative Commons license, authors are encouraged to deposit the published version immediately on publication, alongside a link to the URL of the published article on the journal’s website.

Preprint

Preprints are defined as an author’s version of a research manuscript prior to formal peer review at a journal, which is deposited on bioRxiv or other equivalent servers. Preprints may be posted at any time during the peer review process. Posting of preprints is not considered prior publication and will not jeopardize consideration. However, authors should disclose details of preprint posting in their Coverletter if the manuscript has been previously posted on a preprint server. Otherwise, it may be screened from the result of similarity check software. Once the preprint is published, it is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the preprint record is updated with a publication reference, including the DOI and a URL link to the published version of the article on the journal website.
